About Dr. Ravish Patwardhan's work
Over the course of his career, Dr. Ravish Patwardhan has worked in medicine, research and development, and philanthropy. For the last six years, he has also been an active entrepreneur. In 2006, Dr. Patwardhan founded Comprehensive Neurosurgery, LLC, and Interactive Neuroscience Center, LLC. At the former company, a neurosurgical practice, he managed a staff totaling ten employees and treated patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis. At the latter company, Dr. Ravish Patwardhan engaged in innovative products.
In the nonprofit world, Dr. Ravish Patwardhan served as President and founder of Re-Vitalize, a 501(c)(3) organization that worked with school districts to disseminate information on medical disorders. In the past, Dr. Patwardhan and Re-Vitalize helped bring blind mountaineer Erik Wiehenmayer to speak before more than 2,300 ninth-grade students. Over the past several years, Dr. Patwardhan has also helped as D.C. Coordinator for Community Renewal International, a nonprofit that helps coordinate aid for neighborhoods in distress. He has also contributed to several other organizations, including the Clinton Global Initiative, his local American Red Cross chapter, and ThinkFirst.
As a researcher, Dr. Ravish Patwardhan has had several successes. He has submitted patent applications for medical devices including a microtriad device, a seizure defibrillator, and a device that assists in intracranial object placement. Dr. Patwardhan has also developed a procedure to help control epilepsy through stimulation of the ninth cranial nerve.
